The idea of cutting of aid to our families and friends in Haiti is impractical, if haiti is to changed we need to be realistic when searching for solutions.
Say we decide not help our families in haiti.
What would that accomplish?
You left out the result you wanted to get from such a harsh decision.
I agree the Haitian diasporo has a lot to offer Haiti.
We can bring real change in Haiti but the number one problem is that we don't speak with one voice, we're not united.
Haiti is a failed state because we haitians don't know how to work together back at home. And even though a number of us travel and live abroad we continue to behave the same way our fellow haitians behave at home. We don't work together for a common purpose.
Everybody's only concern about their own personal interests just as it is in Haiti.
We can certainly change the situation in Haiti but first we need to learn to speak with one voice.
Then adopt clear and realistic solutions.
Most haitians in Haiti would go hungry and homeless if their families abroad stop supporting them. Therefore noone will ever consider this option i know i wouldn't. There has been a lot of talks, analyses and endless criticisms but no apparent solutions.
I think it's time we start asking ourselves individually what it is that we can do to help our country.
We need to act now
