Rubens, you and I never agree on much. National evolution is never a linear line; it is always about ups and downs, good years bad years.
The idea is not to constantly have people in power who are too stupid to get the nation out of the bad years.
A country's historical past is never a moot point...actually without its history a nation has no identity.
I don't want to get into a debate with you on this, but as a social scientist, it simply shocks me when someone dismisses their national past. Why do you think that all developed nations hang on to a glorified version of their past, and try as much as they can to ignore the negative aspect of their history.
It is because educated people know that if you only look at the negative of your country's history, you will not be able to build a strong national future.But as I said, you and I never agreed on much and that remains the same today.
