Yes, National evolution has ups and downs true however the linear line is the average of the ups and downs.
Even with the overspread scatter plot that Haiti is you can still draw a linear line of the average ups and downs.
And that line has a big negative slope.
If we chose year 1804 to be year 0 or (x = 0) and year 2008 to be correspondingly year (x = 204), we realize that year 1960 or x = 156 will always have a greater negative value than year 1904 (x=100).
So to speak, Haiti's past years will always seem better that the contemporary ones.
What we need to find out is the original root cause of the decline and why the decline is continous over 200+ years.
What we should be interested in is not only what are the negative effects of non-educated Haitian rulers on Haiti but rather the causal conditions that allow those non-educated Haitians to accede to power and/or the presidency to begin with.
Without that information, well-minded Haitians may never be able to cure our beloved Haiti.
We all can see the effects of a disease but that disease can never be cured unless we discover the origin/root cause of it.
Disagreement is good because it forces all of us to take a second look at our own tenets.
Thanks
