Linda,

Based on the theory of "extreme situations call for extreme measures" your idea is an excellent one. In fact, I have always been thinking of something like that, but I realize that Haitians do not have the stomack for anything like that. Even though they still love their country despite all the odds, but they will never leave the wonderful life they are enjoying abroad to go back to Haiti.

In all fairness, Haitians will hold protest in front of UN headquarters in New York, in front of the state department, and in front of the Imigration and Naturalization Service to defend Haitians causes, but moving back to Haiti in mass like that, I don't think that it will ever happen.

A few years back, the Jamaicans did it to get the government's attention and things started to change in that island.

Jamaicans still moving back to their country in record numbers till this day to keep their government in check

For us, Haitians, we know very well that things are bad back home, but until the master fix it for us, we will not go back because we don't thing it is our job and responsibility to fix it ourselves.

The other thing I think that could motivate Haitians diaspora to do something like that, if Preval would send a special plea asking the diaspora to come back to help fix their country, but again that will never happen because the government does not want the diaspora back and Haitians living in Haiti don't care much about the diaspora either, and that is the fact.

Haiti represents a very hostile environment the diaspora.

However, the government and the people there are extremely happy to get our hard earned dollars.

In fact, they are depended on our monies for their survival, but they want us to stay away.

This is the situation that we are faced with!
