As usual Mr. Trebu, your comment is constructive and very diagnostic.
And Nate is right in stressing the significance of a stable economy where inflation is controlled.
To do that we must promote the production and consumption of local products: mangoes, plantains, livestocks and the likes.
Doing so will help the haitian economy tremendously.
However, we cannot neglect the security situation.
It must go hand in hand with economy.
I believe these two issues must be tackled simultaneously.
Like my friend Nate i'm a young haitian american who's interested in starting a few projects in Haiti.
Projects that will eventually help the country by creating jobs, but i'm gravely concerned about the insecurity and all the kidnapping.
I'm not alone on this issue there are a number of Haitians living abroad who can contribute to the development of Haiti and the economy, they would love to go back. But they are deterred by this current kidnapping phenomenon.
We all know the government cannot do it alone, it cannot create jobs for every Haitians.
Private sectors have to contribute but the government must provide a secure environment for businesses to grow.
