My friend this is one of the most provocative statements i've read on this site. Provocative in a good way. Arguably, you have touched the root cause of Haiti's problems.

Nevertheless, i'm cautious not to lay the blame squarely on the wealthy elites, the mulattoes or immigrants from the middle east. I agree with you completely on the concept that they didn't work with black haitians to build a better and prosperous Haiti.

They used us. They imposed on us a modern day form of slavery that guaranteed their wealth and success.

These blood suckers came in and worked toward our detriment.

They never cared about Haiti's image because they never identified themselves as Haitians.

The more i think about it the upset and emotional i become.

We haitians are the most humiliated people in the Americas.

I mean you have countries like the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Bahamas mistreating and defaming Haitians yet nothing is done about it. Two hundred years later our country is struggling miserably to stay alive.

We seem to be stuck in a quagmire.

However, you have to remember that France dealt us a terrible blow when they forced us to pay them for damages after we had won our independence.

The US hasn't been too friendly either the refused to recognized us as free nation fearing their own slaves would revolt.

And i'm sure that's least they did to hinder our progress.

Let's face it the white man has something against the black man they've been doing their best to destroy Haiti because it is a black republic, the first black republic.

I mean look at Africa, to this day the white man is exploiting the continent, while millions of Africas children are diying.

They don't care. But like Sadrak said we share some of the blame.

From the moment we became independent we were divided.

The country was split in two. Long after Haiti was united we remain seperated as a society.

This division created an environment that guaranteed exploitation by foreigners and immigrants alike.

And it still prevails today.

Everybody's looking for number one. Many Haitians are plagued with a selfish disease.

Our leaders need to start looking out for our national interests.

Leaders have come and gone some even encouraging more division to stay in power, and accumulating great wealth while we pay the price.

Many of our presidents used the same method slave owners did they encouraged mistrust among the population.

The most important thing now is to find a solution.

Because action is what's needed.

We need to promote nationalism and patriotism.

We need to overcome the distrust and hostility that exist within the Haitian society.

Reconciliation above all is what i propose, not vengeance or hostility.

It's not too late we can still pick up the pieces and build a better Haiti.

We are after all children of slaves we know how to work.
