I sometimes wonder too about the foreign solders in Haiti.
I was very upset when I heard the news of they were raping Haitians women and giving them a dollar after.
But my friend before you start a riot, I would like you to think for a moment.
We Haitians act instinctively too often and let our emotions overwhelm us too much.
First, saying that you can secure the country is just talk and talk is cheap.
The Government needs a concrete plan on paper with a strategy and money to pay the security force for as long as it will take to stabilize the country.Heck, the Government needs plan A, B,C, D because 1 plan is never enough.
Second, I do not know if your numbers are correct but if you're correct the 500 millions dollars you are talking about comes from International countries not from the Haitian Government.
And part of that money creates revenue in our economy.
On top of the work they give to translators and secretaries when the soldiers get pay they hire maids, they rent houses, they buy food and gift, they use the post office, the Hotels etc.
The more unemployed and hungry people you have in the country the more kidnapping and killings you will have. Maybe until we find few good plans we need to take it easy.
