Larry, I've given a lot of thought to your attempt to help. Aside from the general cultural things that I mentioned and from warning you to be aware of the history of past mistakes made by others like you, I feel it would be inappropriate for me to suggest that you do one thing or another without actually having studied the Cerca la Source people and their environment.

Hence, I will be in Haiti again soon. At that time, I will go to Cerca and become a member of the community.

As such, I will be able to honestly evaluate what might work better.

The people there will not know that I am researching them, and will feel comfortable about talking to me. People in Haiti from all classes usually find it easy to open up to me. So, maybe I will be able to get some answers for you. If I do, I will let you know.
