I had a similar reaction when I went to Haiti summer 07. I stayed in Leogane, the countryside.

I had not been back for 14 years, driving from the airport to home was the most traumatic, (and I am not exaggerating) experience of my life. The Haiti I remembered or pictured was a completely different from the Haiti that I saw. I was in shock, disbelief, and was very upset, the country seems to be getting worst.

The whole country, the administration, mentality, the Natives both within and abroad needs to wake up and take action in order for any change to take place.

I don't think the problem is just with the current administration.

The country as a whole needs to change.
