Mark, why did you write to the president on this blog; did you just want the rest of us to know that you are doing this good deed?

It seems to me that if you are organizing something like that, and in affiliation with USF, than you should know that this is not the venue to submit your proposal.

What did you intend to gain by posting this type of advertisement of your good deed?

If you are really organizing this through USF, than all the resources you need are already on your campus, and as far as Haiti is concerned, all the contacts you need there have nothing to do with direct contact with the president.

Most college professors or students doing summer projects like these in Haiti or elsewhere usually create links with NGOs or grassroot organizations.

It is very strange that you would try to contact the president for this; it is even stranger that you would do it via a blog site.
