I have never read any of Edwidge Danticat, however, the project that I am involved with did bring her here to my city for a lecture.

Although Edwidge is from the city of Jacmel moved to the state at a very young age, 13, I believe, is a very well know writer with best seller work.

The only down fall in her work is that most of her work revolves around "Jacmel" which has boost tourism to that part of Haiti on a small percentage.

Edwidge Danticat talks rarely in her work about the history of Haiti on a high scale.

She is mostly a story teller from listening to some of those who have read her books because those people couldn't never report any Haiti's history extracted from her books.
