Hans I understand your logic.

My objection is to the word "thing" which you use to describe white people.

Black people have been called all kinds of derogatory names by white people.

We didn't like it and we shouldn't start doing the same thing now. I would never put up with a white person calling me a "black thing."

I'm not a separatist, if we want to coexist in relative peace we have to be responsible in the things we say. I know we suffered and are perhaps still suffering today but we cannot become the oppressor.

I'm not saying we should turn the other cheek either.

White European Christians used that ideology to enslave us blacks.

So i don't believe one race should turn the other cheek when it's being abuse by another.

We need to fight for our rights but we can do while not allowing ourselves to become the oppressor.

I believe we should fight for a society where we can coexist.

You mentioned the Black republic, personally if black people were going to start their own republic and my state was going to be part of it. I would pack my bags and move. I love my African ancestry but I am a bit repulse by black American culture.

They are anti- intellectualism, they are all about showing off (bling blang).

They refuse to accept responsibility for the direction of their lives and they choose to remain in this perpetual state of victimisation.

They don't value education and refuse to speak proper English.

Back in the 40s,50s, and 60s, black people wanted to better themselves that attitude is gone now.

The sad thing is a lot of Haitians choose to mimic that same behavior, specially young Haitians who were born here in the US. When somebody choose to go to school and speak properly English to them you're trying to be white.

I left Haiti young but still I remember how young Haitian students valued education in Haiti.

One of the reasons why a lot of young Haitians want to mimic black Americans because a lot of their parents don't appreciate the Haitian culture.

They have no self-identity.

I'm sick of people telling me I don't want my kids to speak that thing called Creole or i don't need to know anything about Haiti.

I don't understand why some people are ashamed of their Haitian roots.

And I certainly do not understand what is so appealing about black American culture either.

Understand that I have tremendous respect and appreciation for the civil rights leaders.

They were people of characters.

Unlike some Haitians when i have children they will not imitate this decadent black culture.

They won't be watching BET or MTV. They will not be watching those repulsive music videos where black men disrespect black women.

I'll make sure i'm involved in my kids education, and teach them creole and the Haitian culture.

And teach them about self-accountability.

It's a shame for anyone to live in a country like the US where there is so much opportunities and not make something out of themselves.

There is discrimination and obstacles but it's not impossible a lot people simply choose to hold themselves down. And then blame someone else for their misery.
