The truth is I know there are a lot schools in Haiti whether it's primary schools, secondary schools, or universities.
But as you said, most of them, (including the private schools) do not offer Haitian students a decent education.
Tiba you said "The problem education in Haiti has to do with a broken down primitive backward school system that has no much meaning, and a government that doesn't invest much in education for fear that an educated Haitian society will unseat them from their government post/positions."
That is exactly what i believe, like you i honestly think our leaders purposely choose not to do anything about education so it will easier for them to continue to fool Haitians.
They send their children to school abroad because they know most schools in Haiti are a sham. Which is exactly why i believe if i want to contribute to Haitian society the best thing is to invest in education.
I can build a great university somewhere in the countryside away from the capital.
These idiots will not see it as a threat, because i have no desire to run for elective office.
I can just focus on helping educate the younger generation that way they can see the incompetence of their leaders for themselves.
The type of university i'm talking about is a school where a student can major in just about anything.
A student will have the opportunity to get the type of education he would have had in the US or Canada.
Plus it will offer graduate degrees as well. I see it having a law school, medical school, veterinary school, school of management, school of government, broadcasting, education etc...
I will probably hire an American who's had the experience of managing universities in the US to lead the school until i can get a Haitian who's competent enough to do the job.
If possible and necessary, I will get the school accredited by the US department of education, i will also seek accreditation from Canada and France.
Once a student gets a degree there that degree will mean something.
The professors will have to be people with graduate degrees from competent schools.
That's why i'm planning on hiring foreign professors as well.
Tiba, even the actual campus and buildings will be something to talk about.
Nice lawn and gardens it will be the sort buildings you would find in a prestigious US university.
Well-lit, air-conditioned clean buildings with all the latest materials, equipments, labs, books, etc...
It will be like scooping NYU right out of New york city and planting it in Haiti.
Nothing mediocre.
Just to build the campus, i imagine the cost might come close to a $100 million dollars, I have a plan for raising that kind of money.
I also plan on create a scholarship fund to help students who cannot afford the tuition.
I have a plan for raising funds for the scholarship fund too.
So there you have it tiba, I'm either crazy or a prodigy.
Of course I myself am leaning toward prodigy.
I'm a young man so i believe 25 years is more than enough to make it happen.
For free, I would gladly work for the minister of education and help him or her create a new public school system in Haiti where young Haitian can get a world class education.
By the time they get to (certificat)they would be fluent in Creole, French and possibly even English.
These students would be able to speak English with a standard educated American accent and French with a neutral accent.
