The Cover-up.

There are objects not to be stolen among other items in a robbery, or burglary, situation.

If they are, it is not a the situation; rather a cover-up. Since there is cover-up, the perpetrators must find their interests in the investigator's activities.

The investigator then easily takes them to the dead end. Guilty!
