The thing we need to understand about politics is that competence, qualifications and skills are not enough to be a successful politician.

I believe it is much easier to run a business or an organization then it is to be a politician.

Politic lives in a world of its own with its own rules.

At times things get shady and cut throat.

Often your political opponents don't care that you're doing a great job, they usually go after you because they want your position or maybe you threaten their interests.

To be a successful politician you have to be cunning and shrewd.

You need to be five steps ahead of your opponents.

There's a lot of good, honest, qualified people out there but these traits do not guarantee that these people would make good politicians.

Yes the next Haitian leader should be honest, intelligent, competent and so on but he or she needs to also be someone who is very calculating and who can successful navigate through the seas of corruption and the lack of concern traditional Haitian politicians have displayed toward their own country.
