Very dangerous understanding of manifest destiny.

You might want to do some serious reading about this before you profess to know what it really means.

"U.S. policy of Manifest Destiny was not to take lands that belonged to non-white people but was a policy that the U.S. would extend (expand) from coast to coast.

How does this same policy apply to Haiti?"

So, let me get this straight...according this statement, white foreigners coming to America and taking away the land of the nonwhite Natives (Indians) is an OK thing to do; as long as it is done as to "expand" white wealth and property.

Very interesting indeed.

It was OK to basically murder, rape, and take over the land of Native Americans.

For the sake of white wealth an prosperity it is ok to destroy many Indian nations that had inhabited the territory since around 9100BCE.

Please read the US congressional hearings on how "manifest destiny" was understood before you make these weird statements.

The justification for taking nonwhite people's land was that God gave the white man the right to do it, hence the term "manifest destiny," which means exactly what it sounds like; a people who are destine by god to manifest his will on earth...and they decided that god's will was that they the whites had god's blessing to take all things that did not belong to them.

As far as liberating the entire island, all I have to say is wwwwwwwhat!!! I'm no fan of the Dominicans, but, wwwwwwwwwwhat?

"You keep referring to non-whites being taken advantage of. Maybe you are referring to the recent trip former U.S. President Bill Clinton made to Haiti to welcome American businessmen there to open businesses to take advantage of cheap Haitian labor."

I am not referring to Bill Clinton at all. He is probably one of the few white Americans to come to Haiti with good intentions.

It would take too long to explain to you the historical knowledge that you lack to really get why I speak of white oppression of people of color.

On the other hand, I did notice that you made spacifically negative reference to "a Jew businessman." Well, as far as I am concern, the Jews have done very little harm to Haiti compared to the greedy Arabs.

So, it might be wise of you not to try that one when talking about Haiti.

"Bill Clinton would have new U.S. companies making everything from womens bras to numberous other items using cheap Haitian labor"
You said that as though it is a bad thing.

Cheap labor is better than no labor at all. Creating better jobs can come later.

Right now the bulk of the Haitian people are starving because they are unemployed, so any labor that pays is good.

"We should rise above the race issue and think of what is in the best interest of Haiti."

With this I agree, which is why in my last post I mentioned that black Haitians were also guilty of destroying the country because of their greed.

I'm an equal opportunity critic.

However, I would like to point out that the most racist people in Haiti today are the Arabs and the Dominicans.

They have brought racism back into Haiti.

"I am sorry you don't like the present government but this attitude of being against everything could be one of the reason there are 9, 000 U.N. troops in Haiti now. Gera Bougui (Haitian who has served in U.S. military) is active in getting full independence for Haiti and not concerned with the coming election or who is president and you might want to support him as I do."

Anyone who knows anything about Haiti is concerned with the coming election.

Those who are not are in a state of denial.

Preval fully intends on keeping power.
