One Third Minustah Must Leave by 1-30-10

One third of MINUSTAH must leave by January 30, 2010, and the rest by June 30, 2010. I expect those soldiers' understanding in the necessity of this decision.

I advise them to think about their families that love them so much. I understand many of them have made up their minds to settle in Haiti-- either they already brought in their families, or they married Haitians citizens-- but they must reconsider their careers and their status.

I strongly recommend Chief Police Mario Andresol, his immediate staff, and his Commissaires to exacerbate their leaderships on the Haitian soil, to extend their confidences to the population, and to start operating without the assistance of MINUSTAH.

Their cooperation is strongly recommended.
