Jlh

I do understand that you have a doctorat/Ph.D and I am wondering if you had earned that degree from Wall-Mart, K-Mart, or did you earn it from a well established accreditate college or university?

"By raising him and helping him get an education and making something of himself, he is then able to go back to Haiti as an adult and give back to and help his country" (Jlh).

My, my, my, really?

If that is so, I am wondering why our country is so poor?

After all, there is a lot of educated Haitians living abroad and in Haiti.

Last time I checked, there are Many Haitians who came to US virtually illeterate and they are now college graduates, and there is no change in Haiti.

There are a lot of Haitians who grew up in the US like these adopted children and got very well educated in this country, and Haiti is still the poorest in the wstern hemisphere.

I don't see anyone of them move back to Haiti nor doing any type of volunteer work in Haiti trying to make a dent of change.

According to your theory, in the midst of this tragedy, one would think that ALL of these educated Haitians, doctors, nurses, etc. etc...would pour into Haiti to help like you mentioned, but there is one on site to be found.

There isn't one Haitian surgeon, medical doctor on site helping.

All of the care has been providing by foreign doctors, nurses, etc. etc...

Dr. Sunjay Gupta, was airlifted to the US Hospital Boat the other day, from his journalism reporting duty, just to perform a surgery on a 12 year-old kid because there wasn't one Haitian surgeon present in Haiti to do it.

And so, for the life of me, I still can't see how adopting a Haitian kid is helping Haiti.

I think you just wanted to pull that crap out of, you know where, just to make your sorry self feels good?

Even though, today, there are more Haitians with college degrees, and there are more Haitian kids attending school in Haiti, the percentage of illeteracy in Haiti is still remained at 85% percent, which has been reported for the past 4 decades by US and UN.
