There are many factors to consider

There are many factors responsible for Haiti's failure, for one thing, the world did not support or recognize us when we gained our independence.

It's because we were a black republic founded by slaves, at the time slavery was a part of life in American society if America had recognized us their own slaves might have been encouraged to revolt.

And the fact that we had to compensate the french for damages they suffered during the war really crippled our economy from the start.

Throughout the years foreign powers have been meddling in our business.

But the thing that has been the most detrimental is the constant internal fighting between haitians.

Our people like to use violence and destruction to solve their differences.

And they tend to go to the extreme when they're expressing their opposition.

(the usual burning schools, libraries, flea markets).

Everytime something is destroy we take a step backward.

Plus we have a wealthy class that has been reluctant to contribute in a way that would improve haiti's condition.

Instead, of building universities, hospitals and other necessary institutions they prefer traveling abroad to get the services they need. Lastly, we have been plague by irresponsible, greedy leaders who only cared about themselves and their families.

The only thing most of them ever did was to drive haiti over the cliff but they made sure they abandoned ship before the crash.
