The US suspended aid and enforced a TRADE EMBARGO against the country, the REAL REASONS WHY THE COUNTRY WAS LOSING JOBS and CHILDREN WERE DYING, NOT BECAUSE OF ARISTIDE.

Carter was sent to brie Aristide so that he doesn't run for president, something they obviously did with Preval.

Haiti was starving because of US / UN actions, NOT because of Aristide.

Aristide DOUBLED the minimum wage, and he was attacked because JC Penny and the other fascist US corporations accused him of being "bad for business." They had enough of his humanistic endeavors.

Aristide initiated a literacy campaign, started teach a bunch of grown people to read, updated health facilities, rural schools.

Aristide did more for Haiti than every other Haitian president COMBINED, and the Haitian people KNOW THAT, which is why he is still revered.

This is why in 2000 when he was reelected, he received a whopping 92% OF THE VOTE
