Hello Isaac, what a great comment you just posted.
There are thousands of qualified, educated Haitians who think the way you do. They are horrified by the catastrophe that struck Haiti and wants to go back and help out. Truth is, Haitians have been wanting to back and help out for years, but the Haitian government and the ruling economic class of Haiti will not allow it because it is not in there best interests.
There's a lot of corruption and dishonest acts going on in Haiti, no one is being held accountable and that is precisely why these leaders do not want anything to change.
Isaac you should also know that Preval and his government do not monitor this site. This site mistakenly gives the impression that the president himself put it in place as a mean of communicating with its people but that is not the case.
Isaac you talked about your grandmother knowing Preval as a good man, well it would seems that Preval has changed.
My mentor is great friend with Preval's children and he also know Preval personally.
He has told me that Preval could have been a great president but he (Preval) associates himself with bad people.
Personally I think the man is incompetent, indifferent have no leadership skills.
He's more focus on pleasing his wife and entourage than he is on improving the condition of my brothers and sisters living in Haiti.
I sense a little hesitation on your part that's smart but I don't play with words i say it as it is, you see Haitian politicians and the ruling economic class in Haiti want us to send money but have no say in how they spend the money.
The other day I was reading an article, it says annually the Haitian diaspora sends well over a billion dollars to Haiti an amount that is far greater than all foreign aid.
If the Haitian government would just partner up with the Haitian diaspora we would be able to rebuild Haiti ourselves.
But they will not partner up with us because then they will not be able to steal from the money and they know we would also hold them accountable for dishonesty and bad governance.
I'm going to Haiti soon to help out I'll be back at the end of March.
We are Haiti's last hope we literally have to step in and help our brothers and sisters.
The government is not going to change its position.
If you only knew what these people are doing now as Haitians are suffering in the streets of Port-Au-Prince.
Haitian politicians are the greatest actors in the world on camera they pretend to care but behind close door they show their true colors, they don't care, they don't care that Haitians are suffering and dying with no shelter, no food and no water.
There's a lot that I could say but I don't get in trouble with my friends and family, they don't know that I visit this site. Change is coming but it has to start with us, the Haitian diaspora we need to unite and not wait for the Haitian government to come to us for help, we need to get in there and do whatever we can to help our brothers and sisters.
