Pr Sident Ren G. Pr Val, at this point, my confusion is nothing compared to yours.
I was using the word confuse, not to mean that I am overall confused, but simply to ask the question about how can two men that seem intelligent and progressive be part of such abysmal failure.
The Haitian government under Preval has failed on every front.
This is a fact; it is not a political opinion.
This whole concept of "l'union fait la force" is nice and all, but totally illogical when it comes to running a country.
No national population is totally united about anything unless guided in that direction by strong leadership.
Realistically, anyone who has ever been the leader of any large group of people knows that no large group of people are ever truly united about anything.
What does bring a large group of people to play together and keeps them united is STRONG leadership.
Strong leadership with a vision that benefits ALL the people.
A common goal created by a visionary government is what creates a united people--not wishful thinking.
Saying "l'union fait la force" is wasted propaganda; only one thing unites people, that is a common goal and a common vision.
Haiti under Preval had no leadership, instead what we had was a drunken fool who sold the country to foreigners piece by piece, who turned us from a proud country to a beggar nation, who made the elite even more powerful and the poor poorer.
What we had under Preval was a man with no self-respect and no dignity, hence, a man who could not earn the respect of the international community for his nation.
What we had under Preval was a buffoon who could do nothing but embarrass himself and the country.
As with every nation that has ever succeeded, "l'union fait la force" always starts with the government and its leaders, then the people follow.
The Haitian people are beautiful and deserve a good life. However, unless things change for the better in Haiti, soon the US arm forces will have the work they've been salivating for; Haitians will get angry and take by force what they rightfully deserve.
Telling me that this less than mediocre government that was Preval's is great tells me that you are either delusional or seriously confused about historical facts.
