There is no future without knowing our past

I do not speak of going back to Papa Doc. What I call for is that we draw on his many accomplishments, and model after them to help Haiti's current situation.

I can, however provide criticism of my own on the Duvalier regime.

After all I am not a fanatic.

I have many socialist belifes.

Anybody who knwos Papa Doc knows of his anti-communism campaign.

I also belive that he had tremendous oppurtunity to do more for Haiti than he did. Himself and more noticeably Baby Do blew alot of Haitian funds on themselves.

Yes he was harsh on rival political activist.

He also could have chosen a better succesor than Baby Doc.

But just as I am able to draw criticism on a leader whom I admire, I am sure that you could acknowledge some great traits of Dr. Francois Duvalier.

What you said about leaving Haiti trashy is untrue.

He created many infrastructures that we are using until today.

He erased the effects of the occupation, with the land in the hands of the mullatoes.

Even though they still control the wealth of this nation he put in the presnece to of our educated black Haitians with his pro-black idealology.

On the subject on our military, I do not disagree that they were hell in Haiti after Baby Doc's departure.

But if reforming of the military with more suitable young Haitians is nessacary, then let it be done.

Having no military is not fit. We need our FAD'H. Of course I do not mean the exact soldiers who were terrorizing our people, but a Haitian military force under the name of FAD'H that defends our people, and keeps orer through out the nation.

This is what I call for in place of those sill U.N. tourist.

I do not linger in the past, but draw on the good of those who came before us so that we will not make the same mistakes as them, and repeat and continue the good that they did.
