The decentralization program launched in the Far North

Haiti: At the head of a delegation comprising ministers of the transitional government, representative of Secretary General United Nations, Juan Gabriel Valdes, the representative of the United Nations in Haiti, Adama Guindo, ambassadors Accredited in Haiti, representatives of donors, Prime Minister Gérard Latortue has made the Friday, September 30 and Saturday 1 October 2005, a tour of northern countries to officially launch the program of devolution of North Pole centered around the city of Cape Haïtien.Cette visiting delegation led successively Ravine Desroches at Limbe, Port-de-Paix, Cap Haitien and Fort Liberte.

The Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, Paul Gustave Magloire, said that deconcentration program covers only the development of the country too long battered by the merger of state services.

A Vertières at the southern entrance of the city of Cap-Haitien, the head of government has virtually done the same way as Port-de-Paix in unveiling the sign of the devolution program.

It is the Archbishop of Cap-Haitien, Bishop Hubert Constant, who blessed the site of the event.

The tour was coming to an end in the city of Fort-Liberté, where members of the delegation went on site to house the administrative building of the Northeast.

The Prime Minister, as in other cities, laid the foundation stone of the complex to house the main offices of state administration in the department
