Tony Saint Festin,

I think we need to stop being so synical about everything, every suggestion, idea, etc. etc...I really don't care the motif of anyone for wanting to take on any project/program in Haiti as long as that person is capable to get the job done and follow through.

Decentralizing the government is on the 10 most key elements of change that must take place in Haiti.

One person cannot keep calling all the shot and that is why Haiti can never move forward.

The president makes all the decisions even on whether a school is needed in the most remote part of the country that he, the president, may not even know know anything about.

For example, if you take a president like Preval already with no brain power, motivation, skills, and very ill informed, imagine when he's drunk.

When he is drunk the country is stopped functioning, complete freeze, but the country would still be functioning if there were governors/intendents running each department, etc. etc...

As much as we may not like it, sometime it requires that some get elected to office in order toget some things done. We cannot be afraid/scared of elected officials because they work for us, the people, and whenever they get off track, it becomes our responsibility to remind them and get them back on track.

I know that we, Haitians, have plenty of reason for thinking and feeling the way we do, but we need to try to stop being so percemistic, synical, and passive aggressive.

After all, there will always be a government, and there will always be elected officials, whether we like it or not, and that is the reality and we need to deal with that..
