Charles Henri Baker - Think Again

< Previous | Home | Next >

For those of you who are salivating over the prospect of Charlito Baker becoming the next Haitian president - I suggest you all take a deep breath and do your research, and understand what's really going on. Please, look beyond the carefully, crafted political talk. I understand that many of you see him as a "bright light" - figuratively speaking - to the image of Haiti, but Mr. Baker is a millionaire sweatshop owner who partook in the overthrow of Jean Bertrand Aristide in 2004, and who hire "bandits" to cause chaos in Haiti.

Haiti needs local infrastructure, such as schools, hospitals, social programs, ect, and not sweatshops and "tourism" where the so-called international community and "foreign investment" will own just about everything in the country while the average Haitian work as servants and cleaners.

This neoliberal agenda is what they want for Haiti, just as they've already implemented it in every other country in the North and South American region, while the poverty in those countries are hidden behind the veil of tourism.

There's a reason why Baker is ahead of the others.

The vast majority of Haiti's candidates were excluded from participating, including the most popular - Fanmi Lavalas.

This allowed Baker to gain momentum over the others.

Regardless of how you felt about Aristide and Lavalas, he was the president and he needed to remain in power until his term was up. That is after all, the Democratic way. If Haiti wants to advance, we must not condone these CIA backed and funded coups against democratically elected presidents.
