Brian,

You said, "In fairness to investors, it is dangerous to invest in places without stable government".

The irony is, however, Haiti is not "The" only country in the world with an unstable government, and yet, investors keep flocking those countries.

The fact is, Haiti can never be stable enough, can never be peaceful enough, can never have less crime enough for investors to invest in Haiti.

Brian, please read the article that I posted yesterday 12/17 "The Curse of Haiti" and you'll probably begin to understand Haiti's dilemma.

I get very enoyed, sometimes, when foreigners go out of the way to ignore the core/root of Haiti's problem for the past decades, and I am wondering is it because it would be too painful for them to bare if they find themselves as part of the problem, or they just don't care, period.

For example, in the United States, it is very clear to all Americans and the government that poverty and unemployment are elements for an unstable government in the United States, but nevertheless, these same Americans and the US-government keep insisting on having a stable government in Haiti FIRST before any investors would think about investing in Haiti.

This is what's called Hypocricy, Double Talk, and pure Conspiracy.

Until the middle of last year 2009, according to UN report, Jamaica was the crime empire of the caribbean, and yet, US-government never called on US-citizens to avoid Jamaica at all cost nor put a travel restriction against Jamaica.

In terms of Haiti, however, it's totally a different story to US.

Strange enough, US keeps demanding that Haiti be a country free of crime before investors would come to Haiti to invest, and yet, US has the worst crime problem in the world that it can get under control.

New York City alone has more crime than the entire country of Haiti.

Whenever there is ONE person killed in Haiti, US-government jams all the media outlets: radio, TV, newspapers, the internet, calling on ALL Americans to stay away from Haiti at all cost and even close the US-ambassy and evacuate the entire personal.

.

Brian, travel restriction on Haiti imposing by US starting since the 90s is what collapsed the tourist industry in Haiti.

I wish people could understand the simple reality that No country can move forward and progress, and able to feed their citizens while being under perpetual embargoes and economic sanctions.

Since the publication of the election results that provoked an avalanche of protest and violence in Haiti, as usual US-Congress has been debating to impose an economic sanction against Haiti and cutting all aid to Haiti, which made me laugh the entire week non-stop.

My thinking was, what aid the United States is going to cut, and secondly, US-congress talks about economic sanction against Haiti as if it's a new strategy, likeit's something new. This is the type of relationship US has with Haiti.

The true of the matter is, all that vandata, hatred, and resentment US has against Haiti is simply due to the fact that Haitians took it to themselves to Abolish slavery in 1804. Thomas Jefferson became very paranoyed and scared of Haitians and then vowed to break the Haitian people down and destroyed Haiti because US can, and every US-president that came into power thereafter keep following that same racist and vandata policy in Haiti.

And yes, Haitians are to be blamed as well for their cooperation to carry out this racist and vandata policy against their own country.
