Hey JP,
Stop this crap, but on the other hand I kinda agree with you on the basis that Haitians who live overseas/outside of Haiti tend to put the Haitian people down and tarnish the image of the country by using all kind of idiotic and moronic accusations/charges and critics.
But, most of those Haitians do not really know Haiti because they did not grow up in Haiti.
They rely on the media to teach them about Haiti and from there for their opinion.
Majority of these so-called Haitians never put foot in Haiti, and many of them have not been to Haiti in years since the death of Papa Doc or the fallout of Jean-Claude Duvalier, et. etc...
However, for you to say Haitians keep putting their country, Haiti, down because of abuse they have experienced in the US is absurd and plain idiotic.
Since the beginning of time Haitians have always been battling with a "superiority/inferiority complex.
They always believe in foreigners to be better than them especially those who are white.
Haitians always cherish/admire/worship whatever that is foreign.
In a word, Haitians do not believe in anything that is Haitian or of Haitian, and from Haitian.
And yes, the government is to be blamed for all of that. Government is what inserts the sentiment of patriotism, pride, and a sense of belonging in its citizens'mind and soul by treating them as first class citizens with respect.
Until Haitians acknowledge their greatness and that they are equally capable to the white and foreigner to build wonders, then Haiti will never amount to anything.
