Tiba, I did not know this fact that our former ancestors eat soup or bouillon on the independence day or in the Cayman Woods' Voodoo Ceremony (Bois Caiman Ceremony).

I learned through a course on American-Caribbean Relations that the slaves used to be served veggie soups only on January 1 of each year. This is the only day in the year that they were permitted to eat vegetables in soups and their life expectancy was very short too because they were fed only on grain diet. They came at the age of 12 years old in Hispaniola and they died at the age of 20. They were assigned harsh labors with a 16 to 18 hours work schedule and they were fed only with grain diet with no meat or vegetables.

Lucky slaves or house slaves like Toussaint and Dessalines (a maroon slave) were well fed. Once I learned that 5 years ago and I stopped eating that veggie soup on January the first.

I eat every weekend but not on January the first.

It may not be true but that is what I learned from that course as listed above.

Anyway, I know nothing myself, I just wanted to join the conversation and enlighten some people on it. I do not hate Whites but whites were evildoers in the past. They are still evildoers in America in the way they are feeding minorities concentrated in the cities.

I learned that Modern Segregation and Modern Slavery are worst than the ones practiced in the past. Black people need to educate themselves to stand against those evildoers for they are killing us alive...
