Jean Pierre, The French language is just that: A language.

It does not have to be associated with the French and their culture or even with the Haitian Bourgeoisie.

I have been to all of the French colonies and ex-colonies.

The indigenous language is widely spoken by 100% of the population and the colonized language is spoken by people who went to school.

Even in the States, where African-Americans are supposedly monolingual, they speak "Ebonics" at home but speak regular English at work. All colonized people had to do and dealt with the same problem.

Why is Haiti an exception?

Keeping the French language would be a pragmatic choice before we are always starting from ground zero. It is time that we start building with what we have.
Most of our textbooks are in French anyway.

Textbooks that those kids can't buy as it is. Adding another inconvenience and cost
would be to their detriment.

Language is basically not our present issue.

We SPEAK HAITIAN a 100% at present and will speak it for the rest of Haiti's life.
Well, one can start from nothing, but everybody has to go in the same direction.

When the British docking North America from England, they were rejects of Europe fleeing religious and economic freedom from England, they had absolutely nothing.

All they had was determination and a will to survive.

Too bad they had to do it at the expense of the Indians...

They kept their language, their religion they just turned the language in a shape that structured them best. They make the language represent their new way of life and thinking. The same approach can be taken for Haiti.

We can't eradicate Catholicism, Why eradicate French language.

They are both an intrinsic part of us. Let us build on it. Let us renounce destruction.

We are a proud people, we can make French language in Haiti represent our culture.

It is not about the French, It is about us.
Like I said before, we should ignore the bourgeoisie for now, as we have work to do to strengthened ourselves out. To negotiate, one needs clear understanding and a formulation of what one is asking the opponent party to do. There must be a consensus on what the rules are and how they should be obeyed.

When they are not obeyed, what are the consequences?

Those rules need to be feasible and reasonable for all parties.

Haitian masses need a leader or leaders now more than ever. The rules are changing and they are changing fast.
We need to put to rest class disparities, including language dispute for now as these are tools to distract us from bigger problems.

We need to protect our coastal borders, as others could develop it for tourism without coming inside Haiti.

In itself, this is not a bad deal, as long that we get a fair share of the development.

We need to put a lid on the sites were we have oil. Yes, we do have oil; and that need protection.

If we left those 2 players slipped through our hands, we will truly escape economic growth for real and for a long period of time. A lot of topics on this blogs are to deter us from proper action or from keeping people to organize...

The Haitian masses are in dire need. They will cooperate with people who truly have their best interests at heart...They will give anybody "Pere Lebrun" for you, if you are being harmed.

BUT, don't deceive them!! It will be a death sentence.
