Toulimen, I must have missed your entry; it must have been your first after arrival back to the States.
It is rather vitriolic, but your later comments were much more fair. I think that you might have been operating with incomplete information...or possibly very tired and grouchy.
I value the discourse that we share.
I believe that you are at once a very intelligent man, and a very angry one. I cannot blame you for being angry, as you well should be. Nor can I doubt you intelligence and commitment to your country.
But I say to you and all, can we avoid talking about each others' parents in the prosecution of our arguments?
You can't possibly know My Mother, or who she was. She was a redheaded Anglo-Scot who descended from the Hamiltons.
She died in '96 of a stroke.
She never met a Haitian in her entire life, unless you count Harry Bellafonte.
She preferred hot tea to coffee, because it was culturally embedded in her psyche.
She was VERY far-left.
Her mother taught black children in Detroit slums for 40 years, and was rescued from the '68 race riots by her own students.
I say all this only to possibly encourage you to consider that it unlikely, if you guess at someone's heritage, that you will be right.
I enjoy your posts, and I have taken zero offense.
Keep up the Good Work!
