Tortuga 2007...

That is true that some tourists are looking for an unspoil beach different from a popular destination like Paradise Island (Bahamas).

However, our people are dying from hunger and we are not really profiting from the unspoil places that we have like Tortuga.

We do not have time to waste for a few selected tourists looking for an unspoiled place.

We have 5 islands off the shores of Haiti.

We can select one for an unspoil destination.

The others should be developed for real profit.

For example, Tortuga is one of the best places in the world for kite surfing.

It is even better than Cabarete in the Dominican Republic.

We are not taking advantage of this! We need to open up Haiti to investors and the way to really do it is by starting from outside in (from the 5 small islands that we have).

There is a lot of Haitian investors with money looking to come back to do business in Haiti.

But when they think about Haiti, they are thinking the mainland/the capital.

That is a mistake for now. We have to start small.

An island like Tortuga is the perfect place to begin.

Check www.port-morgan.com. Port-morgan has the right idea but we need to expand our minds even more and do something big on Tortuga.

Thanks for your input.

I also wanted to thank President Preval for the job that he has done so far. It would be nice to see something done with at least Tortuga before the end of his administration.
