Hi Flo; again I get your pain, but remember that my original response was only about your concern with "I feel great shame every time I see images of Haiti on television," and with your heading about "mediocre representation of Haiti." And as I said before, mediocre representations of Haiti little to do with what's actually going on in the country itself (thats any country).

In China for example, there are places were the living conditions are horrible.

Most of us never even realized that because the Chinese only allows media coverage in places that they carefully select.

The killing, humiliation, and expulsion of the Tibetan Monks from their land by the Chinese for example, was never even really reported by the media.

Again this was due to the Chinese control of the media.

And already gave you many other examples of the results of controlled media.

What is actually going on in a country is one thing; representation is a completely different animal.

And I think I might want to move on now.
