We are living today in 2007. It is not 1804. The independence war is over.
We need to put that behind us. We need to maintain good relationship with France.
Do not forget, we still have a french culture: Haitian are very sensitive to Corneille, Racine, Molière, Rousseau, Victor Hugo.
Many Haitian have studied at the well known Sorbonne University.
We need to put ourselves in a position to profit more from our special heritage.
We need to send more students to France instead of Cuba.
France can be for us an open door to Europe.
Facing with an aging population, the Europeans are looking at improving their immigration laws to increase the flux of immigrants.
It may be where we need to look in the future when America is in the verge of becoming anti-immigrant nation.
The French are really good with roads and bridges building.
Remember the "Road of Amitié" (Port-au-Prince/ Jacmel).
One of the best in the country.
The French can help with our public administration practice.
They have one of the best Public Administration School at Bordeaux."
La Gendarmerie Francaise" is very efficient.
We need help with our Police Force and our Justice system
After all, Dessalines, himself, made a terrible mistake by ordering the killings of innocent French citizen remaining in Haiti after we won the independence war.
Both countries have to forgive each other and establish respectful and solid relationships.
