Of course it is great! Papa Toussaint put its economy back on its feet in 1801. Despite the Dessalines' incursion of 1805, the Government of Jean-Pierre Boyer did a few good things on the Dominican side of the island than he did on our side. In 1821 Haiti protected them at the expense of our own peril from another takeover by the Spaniards.

In 1865 our great Thomas Madiou negotiated their independence from Spain in Madrid.

For 80 years we supplied their economy with cheap near-servitude labor.

The Americans pumped millions into their economy during their first occupation; Haiti has seen squat during its first occupation.

Their women are prostituting themselves in our streets but we still treat them with respect.

And so forth.
