This actually a good idea! I think that the government should follow up on this idea and see how it can be applied.

A lot of patriotic Haitians living abroad would have a chance to directly affect what is happening on the ground.

I send money to Haiti every other months, and I would gladly contribute a few dollars each time for a good cause.

The mechanism for collecting the fund should be relatively easy. As long as the government reaches an agreement with the companies processing the transfers, so they may ask for voluntary contribution from each person sending money to Haiti, I strongly feel that this would be a great source of revenue for our government.

Moreover, the governmentwould be almost obligated to spend this money with tranparency if they want contributors to keep contributing.

I am asking President Preval to propel this Idea foward and delegate authority to members of his cabinet to look into applying it.
