Linda:

I am an independent and do not have a specific leader in Haiti.

However, these listed facts cannot be done even in the next 10 years.

The reasons are the following:

1) We never elect qualify individuals to the presidency of Haiti.

2) We are more passionate than realistic about politics

3) We tend to satisfy our own ego by being powerful than helping our nation. This is why we prefer to buy SUVs to beat the bad roads, instead of trying to repair them.

4) We always count on foreign aid as a source of financing.

We sometimes think of the world bank as the "World bank of Haiti".

5) We use politics as a business enterprise.

Most of these political leaders are not working, but they are doing great, better than you and I who are working hard daily.

Where do they get their money?

In 2004. I went back to Haiti, but I could not find something to do to survive with my family.

A friend I went to school with told me to create a political party.

I refused.

He told me:.

I chose to return to the U.S. He created a political party, now he is a Senator.

Maybe he was right.

But I am just a different person.

To change this country, we have to look back to our history, see our mistakes, evaluate the damages and take corrective actions.

If we keep forgetting about past mistakes, we will never go anywhere.

I see a lot of people get excited because Fritz Brandt went to jail for usage of fake for customs clearance.

But, is he the only one?

this is a daily practice in our country.

He is just one among thousands in the private and public sector practicing the usage of fake papers to clear customs.

After all, that does not solve the kidnapping problem, it does not solve the electrical power problem.

And finally, let's make the presidency of Haiti a non-paying job, and we will see how many candidates we will have in the next elections.

We have a long way to go. I do not believe a president alone can help, especially these unqualified individuals who never have a sense of development.

Look at our international airport.

President Preval should feel embarass when he travels.

But, it seems that he is very happy and satisfy of this international embarassment.

This is his second term and we still have the same problems.

I think, we should have a United States of Haiti

1) Decentralize our government systems: I mean, we should use a union system.

Make each department a state with their own governor and government

2) Create a union of these departments under a presidential system.

Under this system, each department will become responsible for their own management.

and each governor will be elected by their own department.

3) Make the post of president an unsalaried position.

after, all if you love your country so much, why should you get paid to be president?

We need to learn how to elect qualified leaders.

If we do not know how to qualify them, we need to ask the international community to help us out. These are the kind of help that we need. Education is the basis for change in every country.Did you ever see one of our leader make a good speech about education?

never.

This is a threat to their legacy.

I recently listen to the speech of "Baby Doc" to the Haitian People.

What a disaster?

nothing about Education, nothing about the private sector and the diaspora.

Considering Haiti is surviving with the help of these two sectors(The Haitian Private sector and the diaspora), Baby doc and Aristide need to show more respect for these two sectors if these two have the intention of running in the future, even if they both have no apparent qualification to become president of Haiti.

to be continued...
