Hi,
Insecurity is not the main cause of lack of local and diaspora investments in Haiti.

President Magloire tried in vain to encourage local and foreign investments in Haiti in the early 50's even though it was not that insecure back then. It's the invisible hand that is the problem.

There is more than meet the eye. Tell us something new.
Missionaries loan for business to small merchants in our rural areas is a system of dependence that perpetuates the informal sector.

It does not provide for economic growth or efficiency of production.

The missionaries arrived in Haiti with their ethnocentric attitude: you Haitians cannibal cousins we are here to bring you civilization.
