The defeat of Mr. Chavez is a positive sign that he's not the dictator that so many people claim.
If appears as if the concept of one man one was vote was respected by the government and it's supporters
The changes that Mr. Preval would like to see in the Constitution are nowhere near the ones of Mr. Chavez.
President Preval is not asking for the end of term limits, for example.
It's a bit unrealistic to expect the government of Preval/Alexis to have an immediate impact on the lives of the Haitian people.
After decades of the murderous regimes of the Duvalier, the lack of concensus among the various political leaders, it's no wonder that the country is in such a situation.
Your description of the situation in Haiti seems to justify the need for the international community to continue to interfere in the affairs of the country.
Our ancestors, our glorious heroes, must be turning in their graves.
Let's continue to support the efforts of the present administration, and at the same time hold them responsible for their actions or the lack there of.
