Hello Frere Jean-ba. I thought it best to use a direct quote from one of our suffering Haitians to answer your post. This is from a blogger named Norline Brutus, and it was posted on 12/13/07. She was in great emotional distress because of the way Haitians are treated in Guadeloupe.

She stated "mon constat est terrible, notre peuple subi beacoup d humiliations à cause de notre situation clandestine dont j en suis conçiante...comme on dit qu il y a un consulat haitien en guadeloupe j aimerais comprendre son utilité." I can almost guarantee that most Haitians living in those countries with Haitian consuls feel exactly the same way as she does. We cannot pretend that something is when it actually is not. Just because we want our consuls to be doing the right thing does not mean that they actually are. In order to keep the nation from making the same mistakes over and over again we must be honest, even when it's our best friends, brothers, or sisters who are part of those people doing the wrong things for the nation.
