Questions for President Preval

Dear President Preval,

I am very glad to e-mail you and take advantage to congratulate you for you contribution to democracy in our country Haiti.

My name is Derson Jolteus, an Haitian citizen.

I live in Washington D.C in the United States of America.

I am a student in Electrical Engineering.

I am not planning to live for the rest of my life in the United States.

So, I plan to come back in my country.

However, I have several doubts about living in our country right now. The first doubt I have is the kidnapping.

I would like to know President Preval, what you and your team are going to do to end that scourge and put the criminals in jail.
I know you can't do much with the international troops' presence in Haiti, but I think you can do your best to end treat that disease, which needs to be immediately treated in Haiti.

My second doubt is about the professional and intellectual future in our country.

There are many Haitian citizens who are available to give their contribution in the developement of our country.

Many of them are ready to invest their money for creating jobs so that the Haitian people can have a better life. However, they are worry about institutions that are not opperating well our Haiti including the palais national.

I would like to also know, Mr. President, your plan to end corruption because the government in itself is corrupted.

Investors want to be sure that officials will not ask them additional money to allow them the right to create jobs in this country.

As everybody knows that there is no developement without investors in a country.

This is very important to think about Mr. President.

I am waiting for your answers.

Thank you

Derson Jolteus, February 10 2008, 1:34 PM
