Haiti Under Construction Norway Sends Engineers

Norway will be sending in March a unit of engineers to help in Haiti's reconstruction process.

The United Nations has appealed to Norway to send its peacekeeping force, the Norwegian engineering uni, to Haiti instead of Sudan's Darfur region.

So in March, the Norwegian government will be sending the Norwegian engineering unit to Haiti, the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reported.

"I do hope", says Jean H Charles, "this unit will be embedded with the Haiti Ministry of Public Works so it can immediately start working in helping in the rebuilding of the roads so the people and the produce will be able to reach the appropriate markets."
