Lionne, the Haitian forefathers had absolutely no choice but to agree to the terms of the independence debt in 1825; there were up to 18 french battle ships waiting to bombard and reoccupy Haiti if need be. Jean Pierre Boyer refused as long as he could but by 1825, Haiti no longer had an a standing army that could repel the French thanks to 20 years of suffocating diplomatic and economic isolation.

My forefathers aint make no mistake; they were trapped.

The only mistake was not to let Henry Christophe rule the whole country as of 1806. Actually, the Haitian revolution is what finally convinced Napoleon to sell Louisana to the Americans.

I disagreed with the information that the 1802 french expedition soldiers were rejects; in fact almost half were actually well trained mercenaries from captured territories such as Poland working for the French.

Haiti, if reconquered and pacified by the French in 1802, would have become a staging area for the invasion of the North America.

Therefore, North America owes a lasting legacy to the Haitians and the Haitians are still waiting to see some gratitude.
