L'energie Solaire/More On Street Lamps

Solar street lights are a great way to light up neighborhoods, keeping them safe at night.

Solar street lights have dark/light detectors.

No one has to turn them on or off. They will turn on at dusk and off at dawn.
They work great in areas with plenty of sunlight.

The more sunlight exposure, the more energy that can be created and stored, and the more energy created, the brighter the light output -- brighter light bulbs (or more LEDs) can be used.
Solar street lights placed in areas with high wind exposure should utilize flat panels for a low wind profile.

They also need a good battery reserve, just in case there is inclement weather.

A five day battery reserve is typical.

A street that is lit up is a much safer street than one that is not. Accidents can be prevented, and burglars, (not kidnappers) can be deterred.
