Dear fellow,
First, I intend to congratulate you over your goods deeds and interests you consistently show to the Mother land. I deeply regret the fact that the last events in Haiti have brought to you (and to others)
second thoughts about the future of the island.
Because it will take guys like you to make a real difference in the life of many on the island.
I read your blog with great interests.
I have noticed three (3) critical points:
a)People in Haiti are asking for a miracle.
b)Give him (R. Preval)some time.
c)Poor people in Haiti show no respect for other poor people.
I have few considerations to make about!
First, if you are not a shoemaker, you don't waste your time and that of others to make shoes. You may be a salesman;still you need to have the product on your shelves in order for you to deliver.
In the case of Rene Preval, the man is neither a shoemaker nor a salesman. The man cannot do it;he cannot deliver.
To his credit, the man has even admitted his own incapacity to turn things around or to make things happen in Haiti.
If you had any doubts, his Prime Minister made public statements that went in the same direction as his President's.Litteraly, they both said "we can do nothing.
We can produce no miracles."
No one asks the President for miracles.
Politics is not the business of religion, faith or miracles.
Politics is about taking a course of actions in order to produce resuls for the common good.
In one's good mind, tell what to expect from such leaders who have the courage to confess their incapacity to those who "entrusted" them with their votes. The correct expectation is obviously their dismissal.Instead, they have the audacity to stay in power with no plan to ease the conditions of the poor who is getting crushed by hunger.Poor people expect no miracle from the government. They simply expect those in power to take responsibility and do something.
Now should the people of Haiti give more time to R. Preval to come up with solutions as you proposed? In my humble opinion, the response is quite negative.
The man had two(2) full years to act.Unfortunately, nothing has not been done.
International News agencies and local press reported vastly about hunger in Haiti.
Authorities displayed an attitud of "no hear, no see, no evil".It takes riots and looting in the streets to shake them in their palaces and mansions. Then, they pay attention and want to take action.
It would be naive to sit back, relax and give more time to Preval and Alexis who had confessed their complete inability to sense the pain of the poor. It would be naive to give more time to Preval and Alexis who have absolutely no elaborated plan to deal with the hardcore issues of the nation.
In my humble opinion, Preval,Alexis, Severin,Verella, Magloire,Durce, Clerisme,Dorsainvil and others must go!
Finally, it is hard to lay the blame and the cross on the poor people of Haiti.
Street riots and looting are common to every single protest on hunger regardless the country.Mexico, Argentina,Bolivia, Louisiana,California, Brazil are no different.
Of course, this is a sign of instability.
Investors always look for places where their money can be safe. Therefore, it is wise to have second thoughts about investing in Haiti at this point in time.Obviously, the moment is not right.
In conclusion, there is a question to be addressed:Will there be a future for Haiti? As far as I am concerned, the answer is YES. Because I have faith in the people of Haiti to take matters in its own hands.Like it or not:Revolution will happen.
