how long can we shoulder the tax burden

Président Préval, how long can 150 families continue to shoulder the tax burden for 8 million people.

Half of the population is under 25 years of age. The majority of their parents have never made a tax payment to the government.

Some will say, they do not have a job. My answer is this: if they are self employed they have to pay some taxes.

Your administration can provide all the merchants with a tax and license card, that would get stamped every quarter that the owner paid their taxes.

The ports of Haiti are not only the most expensive in the Americas but they are the most expensive in the entire world.

How long can we continue to shoulder this responsibility, and to watch our income dwindle each year. We do have children to feed and educate too. We work hard for our daily bread.

One of these days we are going to snap, and people will wonder why do some of us bankroll "coup d'etat".

This increasing coercion and flagrant disregard towards us usually cause such irrevocable actions.

If people have money to spend on "combo" and other voudou ceremonies, then they have money to pay taxes.

Start charging people on all voodou transactions and ceremonies.

It's a business like any other.

Start making everybody pay some taxes.
