Talk about a blast from the past!! Don Pierson graduated from Abilene High School in 1943, and I graduated from there in 1961. I can't believe that you knew him. Other's involved in the project included "Sparkey" Beckham, Robert A. Fanning, a Dallas attorey for whom I worked and was the reason that I got involved in Tortuga.

On second thought, it WAS Gulf Oil that was involved.

The reason that I remember that so well now is that we thought it was neat to have a "Gulf" company involved, since we were all familiar with the Gulf of Mexico.

I am now Assistant to the President and CEO of Rankam Group Ltd., a US$300,000,000 a year compnay located in Hong Kong. It is also true (Boy, has my menory started to come back!) about Baby Doc wanting more $$$ when he found out that it looked like we were going to make a go of it, altho the Oil Embargo was what, I think, really tipped the scales causing it to collapse.
