Sending A Container To Haiti From The United State

< Previous | Home | Next >

We sent a 40 foot container to Haiti recently from The U.S. It arrived there a few weeks ago. Now I would like to know why there is such a hassle trying to get our things out at the port?

First our paperwork was "lost", and my husband was sent from one agency to the other, back and forth for days before it was finally cleared up. But every person involved demanded money from him. We were prepared to pay the appropriate fee at the port, but everyone is demanding their "share" What a system!! We still haven't gotten our things out!! Too much red tape!! There has to be a better way!! Everyone thinks they need to be "paid off" before they will let us take our things.

Please do something about this terribel system, and maybe more people here in the U.S. will become more inclined to do business with Haiti.

Thank you.
