Haiti's Crippling Structural Adjustment Waste

< Previous | Home | Next >

Haiti: Crippling Debt after its independence is the world's first structural adjustment policy.

France forced Haiti to pay the modern equivalent of $21 billion U.S. for its slave owners' losses, which led to a crippling debt and the world's first structural adjustment policy.

(Yet they never paid the Haitians for their labor which created the French Bourgeoisie).

The U.S. led a 60-year political boycott against Haiti and occupied the country from 1915-1934.

Aristide a former Catholic priest and liberation theologian, was elected to tackle Haiti's grinding poverty and to redistribute resources to Haiti's most neglected, but unfortunately he turned out to be a lier and a thief.

If you cannot trust a priest when he becomes president of your country who else can one trust.

All those Haitian leaders have been a total disappointment for the Haitian masses.

Most of the current politicians have stolen more than they are able to contribute to the economic growth of Haiti.

Its just like a business, if one takes out more than what they put in, they are effectually killing the business. Thus Haiti is bleeding slowly to death.

President Preval is no different than his predecessor (Aristide).

He has accumulated a wealth close to 100millions dollars.

He has purchased a house recently for his mistress in Coral Gables for $900,000 thousand US dollars, while the Haitian populace are starving.

He has spent millions on an annual Carnaval that last only three days in 2008. Haiti is being run by a very incompetent man (rumored to have a bogus University degree).

He is playing political games in an effort to diffuse attention from himself, who is to blame for the failed policies for his administration which have created the food crisis in Haiti.

He feels safe and secure as long as the United Nation's peace keeping force are babysitting his country.

( He is rumored to be an alcoholic).

He has recently nominated another Prime minister so he can use as an 'escape goat' for his short comings and lack of vision for Haiti.
