I think you have a point. But this will not work in a country like Haiti where people have a messianic approach to government officials.

As far as the Haitian people is concerned, the solution is in Prevals hand. Based on what I observe no one support this idea of negociating with criminals.

I think it risks sending the signal that it is ok to organise new groups of kidnapers just because the government confirms them a platform by negociating with them.

I really don't like the idea of powerless government. This is what the Alexy preval government looks like. I am so sorry for my country!! yes I am.

As for Haitian Americans and Haitians we have much to do. the only problem is that we don't know where to start.

Wyclef is a Haitian American, and he is doing much more than the president of Haiti.

We need to push an educational vision that should help the next generation to see better days. There is nothing more valuable to me than a balanced education for young people in any country.

But when children are forced to remain at home for fear of being kidnapped, then we have a real situation .When you don't see the will of the authorities to passify the situation, them we have real problem
When government officials becoam bankrup on their capacity to assert the judicial function of the state, then we have real problem

the solution is to send a strong signal to the criminals that they will not be allowed to turn HAITI into no return Iraq.
